grant the arts
Those with special needs are routinely prohibited access to the arts.
Our programs offer opportunities for those with special needs to express themselves and improve their quality of life.
From Debra Jenkins
President, Board of Directors
When Alan & I founded Merrimack Hall in 2006, we never dreamed it would blossom into a community of lives that have been intertwined through the arts.
Too often, families of individuals who have been diagnosed with special needs are left adrift and unintentionally isolated from mainstream life by our society. It is our goal to create an inclusive atmosphere for these families and to be there for them in any capacity possible.
At Merrimack Hall, we believe that everyone deserves a decent quality of life. We believe that everyone deserves access to the arts. We believe that we are all more alike than we are different and that people with special needs are only limited by the labels we choose to give them. We believe that Huntsville/Madison County should serve as the Gold Standard of Inclusion in the state of Alabama and Merrimack Hall believes it is qualified to stand as the leader of that movement.
For over a decade, Alan and I have personally contributed to the sustainable success of our organization. However, our next immediate objective is for Merrimack Hall to obtain fiscal independence so that Alan and I can establish an endowment to secure the legacy of Merrimack Hall.
We ask that you join us in creating a legacy of inclusion in Huntsville and Madison County so that the doors we have opened to those in our community with disabilities remain forever open and so that we can offer the population we serve more opportunities for inclusion and enrichment.
