Academy Award Winner Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters in Concert

Academy Award© winner Billy Bob Thornton brought his band to Huntsville's Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center for two performances on Friday, August 17, 2007. Thornton was joined in Huntsville by Teddy Andreadis, keyboards; Steve Arnold, bass; Sam Bacco, drums; Steve Bruton, guitar; Brad David, guitar and mandolin; Mike Finnegan, keyboards; Randy Mitchell, vocals and guitar, slide guitar, dobro and mandolin; Mica Roberts, vocals; and Micharl R. Shipp, guitar.

Thornton, an Arkansas native, has an extensive and impressive career in motion pictures, television and music. Best known for his work as a writer, actor and director in films such as "Sling Blade", "Primary Colors", "Monster's Ball", "Armageddon", "Friday Night Lights" and television shows such as "Evening Shade", Thornton has been a musician since his youth.

While shooting "Sling Blade" in Arkansas, Thornton jammed with former bandmates, eventually leading him to Nashville and its recording studios. Back in L.A., he began writing the songs that would make up his debut album in 2001.
